NSW Lighting rebates
Huge savings for NSW residents and business
6/6/20242 min read
Switching to LEDs will help you reduce the amount of energy you use. This means you can expect to see long-term cost savings on your bills.
For example, if you change 20 halogen downlights to LED downlights, you can save up to $210 a year on energy costs.
Other benefits include reduced maintenance because LEDs last longer than other lights. They will also lower your environmental impact.
This incentive is part of the Energy Savings Scheme.
Note: You will need to make a minimum payment towards the cost of your new LED lights, as well as the installation services. The final cost will vary, as it depends on the amount of lights selected, the model you choose, and the services provided. This can include travel and transportation costs, the complexity of the installation, and the need for additional building work.
Get the upgrade
Here's a few steps you will need to follow to get the upgrade.
Contact approved suppliers. They will be able to check your eligibility and provide you with a quote. It’s a good idea to request quotes from more than one supplier. This way you can ensure you’re getting the best deal. Suppliers work independently and choose which areas they operate in and what products and services they can offer.
Choose the LED lights that best suit your needs. Your supplier can show you the different options available and work out what works best in your home.
Choose an approved supplier before any work begins. The supplier will provide you with the nomination form. You must sign the nomination form before your installation is complete, as you will not be reimbursed for works that are already completed.
Your supplier will send a licensed electrician to install the new LED lights and answer any questions you may have around maintenance and use.
Your electrician will dispose of and recycle your old lights, as well as any other equipment that is being replaced.
Sit back and enjoy your new LED lights! But do contact your supplier if you have issues or further questions.
Contact an approved supplier
You can find approved suppliers in your region below.
When you contact an approved supplier, they will be able to confirm if they operate in your location. Note, suppliers listed in a region may not service the whole region.
